Please note the November meeting which is to be held on Tuesday 12th is going to be in a different room at the St Austell Brewery Centre on this occasion due to another event. The meeting will be in the conference room which is adjacent to the main brewery yard (1st gate). There will be signs to redirect you and the bar in the visitors centre will be open after the meeting should anyone wish to have a pint afterwards.
Please note the slipway will be closed to all users from Monday 3rd of June 2013 for approximatley 10 days to allow the widening of the slipway. Please check back here for further announcements. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated, the SABBC Committee, 29th May 2013.
St Austell Bay Boat Club have negotiated a deal with “Fowey Maritime Centre” to run a course for members to obtain a “RYA Short Range VHF Marine Band Operators Licence” at a discounted cost of £80, which includes the cost of the RYA Licence. The course will be run on a Saturday at the centre (date to be arranged). There are currently 4 places on this course – anyone wishing to do this should contact the committee at the next SABBC meeting 8th May at St Austell Brewery Visitors Centre or via the SABBC website.
The June 12th SABBC meeting is going to be a joint 10 year celebration with NCI Charlestown We will be inviting representatives from NCI, the RNLI, EcoBos and Imerys to this event and hope to also raise funds to donate to both NCI and the RNLI.
The event will be hosted by St Austell Brewery at their Visitors Centre and will include a brewery tour followed by a complimentary pasty and drink. There will be a raffle with many prizes, including a years free launching membership with SABBC. We also plan to have media coverage at this event to raise the local profile of SABBC.
The event is open to all launching members and a guest, but it will be necessary for any interested members to attend the May meeting so we can be sure of numbers for the tours and catering.
We have already had some generous offers for raffle prizes and would gratefully accept any others.
